The Opening Gala will kick off the event with a silent auction, a symphony and dance performance , followed by an invitation-only Zac posen fashion Show. Friday and Saturday fashion shows will begin and end with several VIP parties around San Francisco. Featured designer Zac Posen, winner of the 2004 Swarovski Perry Ellis Award from the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and the Andre Leon Talley New Look Award presented by Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley, is debuting
in his first West Coast show at this event.
Recognized as one of fashion`s brightest stars, Zac Posen is celebrated internationally for his women`s designer collection, which is worn by prominent celebrities, most notably Halle Berry, Gywneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz, Natalie Portman, Naomi Campbell, Angelina Jolie, Claire Danes, Lucy Liu, Angelica Houston and Naomi Watts.
Earlier this year, Zac Posen formed a joint venture with Sean John, a men’s wear line founded by rap mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. This venture creates a visionary partnership and allows Zac Posen to expand and develop an accessory line and explore licensing opportunities.
Traditionally, fashion weeks in the United States focus on high-end American designers. San Francisco International Fashion Week 2004 is unique in that it embraces the diversity and talents of designers worldwide. Moreover, this event highlights the Spring/Summer 2005 collections of designers from India, Russia, Japan, Italy, and North and South America. Fashion leaders attending this exciting inaugural week include fashion editors, magazine publishers, acclaimed fashion photographers, high-end fashion consumers, San Francisco’s A-list personalities, and celebrity guests from Bombay to Paris.
San Francisco International Fashion Week 2004 is strategically scheduled between the fashion weeks in New York and Los Angeles, and is concurrent with the two annual fashion seasons held in Paris, Milan, and London.

This is the first international fashion week held in San Francisco, California. In its inaugural year, this event will showcase the diversity and talents of designers from around the world, making San Francisco another Mecca for designers and fashionistas.
